Hi All ,
I have read many topics about many things .
I am curious to what has happened to your patriotism in the USA .
I'm a bit older than a lot of you but there are some of you my age I'm sure .
I used to hear when visiting the US "buy American " , "Support America " etc . What happened ?
You all speak of Toyota and Subaru etc . ?
Many of you travel to kite . Mexico , Brazil , Carribe etc .
A lot leave the country when there is so much kiting in the US.
Now more than ever it's time to get things straightened out at home for the US and Canada .
I have been to Hatterass , Oregon , Texas , Idaho , Montana and Hawaii to kite and love it . I drive Chevrolet . I eat Canadian Beef and pork .
I just came back from Maui where I took the IKO instructors course . I bought Tshirts and stuff but Hawaiian made!!! and it's hard to find .! It's all chinese , malaysian , indonesian etc.
We let the companies get away with this shite and look whats happened to our economies . Build kites here !!!!!
Speak to your Grandparents and Listen to what they have to say about it ! Then Act on it as they know the truth !

PS , fuk LaVentana I'd rather go to South Padre , even the Mexicans know that , go there , you'll see lots of them there !

Perhaps we, the USA, have been fighting the wrong enemy/war for the last ten years.

| I don't buy this patriotism bullshit for one simple reason.We invaded and took over other countries in the last 10 years. If you want to talk about patriotism, how about a country that respects the rights of other nations? All we care about here is money, power and greed. And what happened to being a citizen of the world? We are all cut from the same cloth, these countries people deserve our injection of cash MORE than all the money grubbers in this country. We are a bunch of rich-ass kite surfers with enough already. Wow, you bought a hawaiian made shirt. Get over yourself, eh? |

Just to be sure I understand, a Canadian who vacations in the US--Welcome, by the way--is suggesting that Americans should not vacation abroad, as it's not patriotic?
Am I missing something? |

| Government goes to those who show up. Don't like where your country is going? A good way to start changing it is just vote in the first place. I'm dumbfounded by the number of people who don't vote. |

I don't know you, never met you before, and my apologies before hand if I'm mis-judging your character but if you are that disillusioned with the USA I will gladly contribute to a fund to buy you a one way ticket to the "ideal" country of your choice. Condition: you may never return to the USA.

It's not that simple anymore.
Many foreign cars like Toyotas and Subarus are made in America.
At least Slingshot is manufacturing in America (new board factory in Stevenson)!
I'd be curious who else manufactures kite gear in America? |

keep it made in the USA, as much as you can. It's pretty impossible to be 100% with everything you buy, but I do my best. Go travel and kite around the world, I wish I could travel this planet more.

IKO was great .
I did the assistant and level 1. The class had instructors from other schools as well . I had no idea how to teach and learned a great deal from the course participants and the working instructors on the beach .
I am very fortunate to have been part of the course and most of all , meeting all the totally awesome people at the beach .
Of course the kiting was super for a prairie dweller . It so happened that there was no wind days the days of the course so we didn't mind the classroom as much . Winter on Maui , ha , thats funny as I turned on my furnace today.
Got some super strapless sessions including some overhead waves , a first for me .
Turtles , my oh my , huge , what a sight while kiting .
My Maui experience was bliss .
