Heading to Maui for 10 days in november and I was looking for recomendations for awesome instructors for my girlfriend? I value my relationship with her, and would rather have someone else teach her the nitty gritty.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

It your looking for someone certified and cheap Todd Action Davis does private lessons for half of what shops out here are charging. 10 years of on experience on Maui and don't have to deal with all shop/corporate BS.

you smart dude Wink

I just finished my IKO instructor course with Dave @ Action Sports Maui .
It was awesome .
I shadowed the instructors there to pick up on some of their wealth of teaching knowledge . They were all very proficient . I realized after spending three+ weeks on the beach with them there are a great deal of things to learn to teach a sport . Thanks to all of them for letting me in on theirs !
Several Instructors that operate at Kite Beach were attending the IKO course to be affiliated or part of IKO .
Some mentioned already as well as others .
There are women that teach there as well if that may help .
I tried to mingle a bit with all but am not a real social butterfly so , and I needed to kite as well .
I will not say who you should go to but that you should go there and talk with them . Not you , your GF , as she's taking the lessons , it's important to click with your instructor !? It does make a difference. Start some emails and get a feel of things , you can only gain from it .
You really can't go wrong with your choice on Kite Beach Maui .
Sorry , I have 2 more days here and have met a super bunch of people and sure I have favourites ......... so will you !

Brett Lickle is an awesome instructor, and a very experienced waterman. He teaches out of Naish beach, which is a way better place to learn than kite beach. Brett is a great guy and won't let anything happen to your girlfriend.

far better launch.

Todd who is an awesome guy and can fix your kite as well or make you a board , teach you to kite .
Brett is another on Naish beach .
There is only so much room on Kite beach .
Naish beach is used by some to teach .
I was on Naish beach for a while and watched . I found it a scary place as there are many kooks dropping kites near or on people . No signals given to launch or land with help !?
I thought it was an awesome beach until .
If you stay down by Todd you will be safer .
I heard that the self taught kite there mostly thats why I saw some bad things .
Some guy I was going to help land ( I even gave him the signal ) yelled at me not to touch his kite and he dropped it down and it relaunched pulling him onto his knees before he got his stuff together and dropped it again this time it stuck . I asked him if he shooed me off cause he was trying to learn on his own but his response was " I don't know if you knew about kites " . Thats why I gave you the signal I said and have a nice day !
Naish beach is big and no punchy air to get you going but if you know how to kite or were taught properly you won't have a problem . At kite beach there is the shade of the trees to sit under when not kiting . Also your vehicle is right there at Kite beach and it's harder to park at Naish beach . Serious theft problems !!!!! I was hearing regularly about locking your car , no valuables left out to see . There were kites stolen from a school at kite beach as well so it's bad all over there !!??
I had the same questions about Naish beach but saw for myself why ! It's not terrible but has some drawbacks like kite beach does .
See for yourself .
One of the guys I took my Instructors course with said he liked it better ( Naish beach for the room ) and was going to teach there . Like I said it seems like a nicer beach to me too , for size !? The far end of Naish beach is punchy wind too as the trees at that end cause it . There are stone jetties that cause problems for some beginners at Naish .
Best to see for yourself !
Use both ! Even go to Lanes , no beginners there tho .
Enjoy !
