It is surrounded to the north and east by huge cliffs. A good option is to get a 4WD flag at the sand lake store and drive north from Sand Lake up the beach. If it is a good north wind day you have the option of driving up the beach toward Cape Lookout and setting up some downwinders. You should make sure to check the wind and conditions before you go out so you can have a good run. I have only done it once and had an epic downwinder all the way to Bob Straub State Park in Pacific City.
