I love riding my strapless surfboard and every time I start to think I need straps
to jump a board, I see a video like this one that makes me go back to wanting to
learn how to jump my strapless surfboard, wow...

Just awesome!
I wonder how many boards I will destroy before I am able to land anything like that strapless. |

Sick
That vid gets me fullly erect, tho my bulging discs protest yesterdays punishing air skim attempts, felt so good to stick - a bit less so today... _________________ Go Deep!

Dangle fest.
Seriously though, I've been trying to land these with altitude for awhile and they are tough. Getting into the air and grabbing is good, putting the board down and landing with anything that looks graceful is not easy.
Seems like when rotating backwards the grab has to be on heelside front foot (Method?). Alternatively when staying in direction of travel an Indy or Mute grab is what they are doing. |

So sick!!
First things first, make sure you have some small fins if you want to dial in this spinny stuff.
Next notice how wide of a stance they're using. If you land fins first you'll want to have your front (soon to be back) foot close to the nose coming in for landing.
These guys are ridiculous and can do it all with no grab, but when I go for the backroll I usually grab on my heelside with my front hand. Here's coming out of one after switching feet/direction...basically just a tack in the air:
