Going to Maui for first week of October. First time for Maui, longtime wave kiter.
I have SS RPM 6, 8, 10, and 12. Should I take all 4 kites? (I'm 180 lbs).
I have 2 surfboards (5.8 and 6.2). Should I take smaller or larger?
Flying Alaska - taking my own is cheaper than renting.
Besides Kitebeach and Lanes, any other spots to kite in the waves?
Any downwinders on Kihei side? |

I would leave the 12m at home. If it is a 12 m day - there are more fun things to do in Maui - surfing, snorkling, scuba, SUP, hiking, golf, etc. etc.......... |

Agreed, but take both boards. It could be small and windy, or big and windy and you will need every inch of that 6'2. |

Im 230 and do use a 12 at kite beach sometimes. I bring it because I do use it. But I also sail over powered on a 7 sometimes. Good to be ready for everything. Good waves at pier 1 or down at Wailuku . Uppers is also fun waves. You can do a down winder from Lanes if you go around the airport zone. Here is a map: http://mauikitesurf.org/ Fun to go downwind from Kehei to Makena. If you ask the locals at kite beach the are friendly and happy to provide info if you ask nice. Bring them some cold green bottles at the end of the day and they will be your friends forever. People are glad to help and dont usually keep secrets. Not much attitude and vibeyness like Cali ..... Tons of Aloha. _________________ Ozone Reo's. C&k Beach Boy Service, Windsurfing Waikiki, Hawaiian Windriders, NSRN. |

For the downwinders from Kehei you will want to pick a day with lots of North in it. _________________ Ozone Reo's. C&k Beach Boy Service, Windsurfing Waikiki, Hawaiian Windriders, NSRN. |

Also, you gotta go to Eskimo Candy in Kehei. You will understand when you get there. _________________ Ozone Reo's. C&k Beach Boy Service, Windsurfing Waikiki, Hawaiian Windriders, NSRN. |

The 6,8,10 combo should be good and the surfboards are both a must. Take the fins and straps off and try to fit both boards in one bag. Kihei goes off better later in the afternoon. Not to sure where Kehei is....?
