Was down near Sacramento for work this week, brought the kite gear along and hit the Island, great spot, didn't dissapoint. Good vibes and good peeps. Went 3 for 3. Couple parting shots as I headed out the last day. BTW, $20 each way on Alaska to bring kite gear, keep it under 50lbs, not a bad deal.

SAC is the closest airport and MUCH cheaper and nicer than OAK, SFO, SJC.

Just google Sherman Island kiteboarding. This is a popular spot on the Sacramento River/Delta, so lots of info out there. Main launch is at Sandy Beach Park ($5/day park fee), another popular spot is baja Joes, upriver about a 1/2 mile from the Beach park.
