If you are wondering whether your CGKA membership is current, please just shoot me a pm with your real name and I'd be happy to let you know. Your membership is important, as representing a large group of people just makes CGKA's voice stronger.

If you're not yet a member, please go to www.cgka.net and sign up. It's only $10! The cost has been kept so low because numbers are more important to CGKA at this point than dollars. Your membership does matter.

Hey Aspen. Since we determined that I am a current member...just wondering when or if it will be indicated on my Avatar/Icon thingy as I post. It was last year. Not sure if you all are still doing that.

Since CGKA is a young, poor nonprofit run by a bunch of volunteers with a shared passion for Kiteboarding and protecting/expanding it in the gorge so everybody can come out to play with us, we do not have fancy automated systems. Most everything is done manually, including sending new member welcome emails and updating people's CGKA status on nwkite. We had a problem with these CGKA tags on nwkite, and we will be manually cross-checking our lists and updating member status tags soon. Once this process is completed, only those CGKA members who have renewed in 2011 will have their membership indicated when they post on nwkite. We will then add the tags in about monthly batches as the year progresses.

Your CGKA membership is valid for the current calendar year no matter when during the year you join/pay, so we will contact you reminding you to renew in January, regardless of the month in which you joined/paid. Ideally, everyone would get on a January-January renewal cycle. That would make it easier to keep nwkite tags current, would allow us to do more work in the off-season and would simplify your life in that you wouldn't have to remember when to renew.

So, maybe someday we'll get some automated systems to update your CGKA status on nwkite, but for now it's all manual labor and manual problem-solving. We appreciate your patience. and, of course, we appreciate your membership and your support.
