Man those cups look pretty awesome. I'm suprised I haven't seen them before. They really put the regular dixie cups to shame.
How late does Rooster blow usually? I haven't ridden there in over a year, but seem to recollect that it's windy until about 4-5pm or so.

Sooner the better with Rooster Rock (RR) is the general rule of thumb. RR tends to die off in the late morning/early afternoon. More so with the fall winds, so it could blow most the the day this coming weekend. . . with the predicted hot temps and longer days. I still wouldn't plan on any sailing past 5pm, just swilling beer.
Dalton Point is the upwind launch for the downwinder. The big worry here is the safety of your car and its contents--plenty of methheads out there looking for something easy to steal.
RR, however, the lurkers in the east parking lot are also looking for something easy, BUTT its not in your car. . .
Be fearful of the trails beyond the volleyball court. . .
If the wind blows I'll be out there on Friday for some RR flat water butter.

I could probably go earlier if that's the way to go. Would you want to meet there a bit before noon or how long does it take you to get there? |

Sure we could do that. If the wind's blowing might as well make it 11. |

I don't know but you can always bring an office waste paper basket instead.
That is, if you can get your mom to drop you off. LOL |

Piggy really wanted to go to the coast but trying to buy
some wheels for my college bound daughter had us in
E p-town till after 3. So we stopped at Rooster and I took
the pig out for some flatwater with my 7. There were
some little ankle snappers to practice strapless airs and I
think I cleared a foot on some. The landings are getting
smoother. Pretty gusty and some devilish wind on the
far side. A short fun session. Pig has been fed.

check the corbett sensor here: http://nwwind.net/wind.php?region=300
You can usually add 10-15mph to the avg at Corbett and get an idea of the wind at RR.
Tomorrow will be a nuker, don't bring anything bigger than 9m (proably going to need something smaller.) |
