Wed Jul 13, 11 6:34 pm Recommendations on FREE Android apps... not ikite btw |
|

Yo, lots of unhappy stuff on nwKite today. Hope everyone gets these issues resolved.
Anyway, just got an Android and want to find some good or even great wind apps although I'll settle for decent or even marginal. I'm not into ikite, don't like monthly fees and contracts. Please, ikiters, don't hijack this post and lecture me on the wonders of ikite. There are plenty of other postings here for that. Anyone with any positive experiences with the free droid apps out there please chime in. pskite sounds cool but I'm a Portland kiter and frequent the gorge and oregon coast mostly. Thanks, all. _________________ Take the red pill... |

Wind on the water works fine on my Android phone. They also have a text only page you can bookmark.
Also getting Temira's forecasts emailed to your phone is pretty sweet. _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |

If you like kiting in the surf the Magic Seaweed app is really good. The wind forecast they have in there is usually pretty accurate as far as I have been able to tell since starting to use it last fall.

FYI, TouchBB app for forums does not work for PMs. I was stuck without a laptop in Lyle and sent multiple PMs.... nada. Not sure if Tapatalk in also in Andriod. _________________ CGKA Member
