In keeping with Onads post, I have a question for you strapless riders.
I am having trouble landing 'big' airs. by that I mean anything off a wave/chop that is higher than 7-8 feet.
I find I come down hard and dont know if I should land nose first or tail first ala windsurfing style or if there is another approach? It hurts when I come down flat and im not sure my board will last much longer when I land flat, which is currently the only way I can land some of them.
that shot of Niccolo is sick!!!!

Was down at Waddell a couple of weeks ago. Watched Josh Nehf quite a bit. He rides fast and overpowered on a bigger kite than all the dudes. Threw huge strapless airs off 3 and 4' kickers. Impressive as he easily got 15-20' in the air on 9M days. I only saw one landed but sure there were more but still... It was always the hard landing. You could hear it and see it. Tough to land but definitely possible.

If you're sending it that big I'd try to grab the board and come down a bit softer or land on the face of a wave. If it's really windy you can point the board into the wind and still come down a bit softer. Otherwise maybe try land tail first a bit to soften the impact. If all else fails hopefully you're a small young guy and your knees can hold up to the abuse.

Barfly - yea Josh is a sick rider...he is a big dude, likely why he rides a bigger kite.
Gene - good thoughts. Im 36 and 145lbs so I have half of the equation!!!
