CGKA - EVENT SITE ACCESS THIS WKND ONLY FOR KB4C

Just want to make sure that everyone is aware that the Event Site is reserved from Friday thru Sunday specifically for the Athletes4Cancer competition/rundraiser.

FRIDAY :
SUP races will be going on all morning into afternoon with paddlers finishing from their Viento downwinders mostly in the noontime.
**Kiteboarding and Windsurfing access is still allowed, but must be kept to a restricted safety area so as to avoid any congestion issues with finishing racers and event organizers

SATURDAY & SUNDAY :
Kiteboard4Cancer athletes and teams will be participating in the long distance and relay racing activities all day for both Saturday and Sunday.
**Kiteboarding access is restricted to only registered athletes and teams competing in this event.

ALTERNATIVE KITE LAUNCH OPTIONS FOR KB4C WEEKEND:
1) SANDSPIT (AKA'THE ORIGINAL KITE BEACH')
- While life is not perfect with the water levels still being quite high, the water levels have receded enough for there to be a better level of launching/landing capability at the Sandspit, with there now being a sizeable chunk of sandbar in front of the parking lot and the Sandbar actually now sitting at ankle to knee deep water.
**Just like the Event Site launch, the Sandspit should be respected as an intermediate to advanced launch spot. Safety and Caution are a priority.
2) MARINA BEACH PARK :
- THE MARINA BEACH PARK IS NOT ACCESSIBLE FOR KITEBOARD LAUNCHING AND LANDING.
- If things change, regarding the Marina Access, we will make a formal posting on NW Kite and via our membership communications.
