What are people's go-to resources for forecasts? Are the forecast resources here at nwkite the best?

- The gorge?
- Sauvies?
- Jones?
- Etc?

I'm trying to get this nailed down, as my time is quite limited, and can't afford to get skunked a lot.

(I know, go to Sauvies, and bring a 6-pack) Any other advise is appreciated!

If this info is somewhere in another thread, can someone point me to to?

Thanks!

Click on 'Forecast' at the top of this page.

Done and done.

Wind Forecast wise, these work for me,

thegorgeismygym.com (go to the forecast page),
wunderground.com
noaa.gov

It doesn't hurt to have a 6pk always handy just in case!!!

For Jones look for a burn back of the cloud line to near Astoria, and a temp difference of near 10 degrees (70 degrees in AST is starting to be too warm). You can also look at pressure differences between Astoria & Portland. If your seeing pressure difference increasing when you look at around 11AM then it's probably a go.

Burn back point:

its not hard to do. like anything else, all people really remember is that one good time they had there that was off the chart. that, and you are close to down town, so you can stop at a bar and drink'em purdy if the wind sukt on the way home. Guess you can try to drink the wind purdy @ SI too
