Just got all up in two kiters grill at 5:30 PM for launching at Event Site today, but was told,
"we have been granted another extension through July."
"Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!"

An extension might happen, but people launching there now is the best way to screw that up. Absolutely go agro on anybody launching/landing at the event site. Remember everybody, when you see someone breaking the rules, it's YOUR access they're screwing up. If and when an extension is granted, we'll post it here and get some signs up. |

Today kiteboarding access was not supposed to be started yet.
Eric, you were correct in your comments to those launching and landing at the Event Site today.
At last nights Port Commission meeting the Port agreed to reopen a temporary access for kiteboarding at the Event Site, AFTER the appropriate signage and area designation markers were put into place, and after the Port had made an official statement.
The original timeline was proposed to start on Monday(after Windfest weekend), but it could open sooner if the signs are completed and an appropriate launch/landing area is designated that kiters will use only for launching and landing, and absolutely not for pumping/drying or spectating.
The success of the launch/land zone will be the key to our success this month and will allow us access until July 31 if we can keep things organized and safe.
For some reason or other today, the parking pass person and a person who was in attendance at last nights meeting were incorrectly telling people that it was okay to launch at the Event Site already.
Please stay posted and an update will be put up as soon as the CGKA has met with the Port Thursday morning at 10am. _________________ [b:13763ca0d3]The CGKA is your advocate for Kiteboarding in the Gorge! [i:13763ca0d3] Join now: [/i:13763ca0d3]GorgeKiter.com/join[/b:13763ca0d3] |
