This afternoon's frontal wind & swell* at the mouth of the White Salmon was memorable. Couldn't help but recall last night's calm evening off the east tip of Wells. 'Da Gorge!
*Strapless 101's objection to the use of "crushing" made me reflect on the overall accuracy of the post and therefore warrants an asterisk. I'm willing to concede that wind & swell in the gorge can be more crushing. However, the use of "calm", given tiny ripples in the background of exhibit a, are of equal concern.
On a slightly more serious note...it'd nice to go online and bask in the warm afterglow of a memorable session by sharing a couple photos and an observation without thinking that somehow someone's gonna one-up or trivialize it. Strapless 101's comment below isn't exactly caustic, but for me, it's a buzz kill. ...Guess it may come down to my stage in life (42, settled down, and bald) which makes me say that the petty little challenge, you shoulda' been here yesterday(s), digs, etc. aren't worth sharing with others, even if you're thinking it. Let it go...

Yesterday's session at the bridge was spectacular. Great wind, great swell and a great group of people all killin' it. Strapless surfboards, strapped surfboards and twin tips, everyone seemed to have the same air of bliss surrounding them. Everyone seemed to give way to the one riding the swell. I learned a lot just by watching others. Thanks 4 Stringer for posting and giving the moment the recognition it deserves.

Slaying giants on 5m & 6m kites with smooth overhead rollers, almost epic!
I have never had so much fun in the rain.
I agree it felt very comfortable with the group of us ripping it up at the bridge.

Got the call, but chose to go on a mountain bike ride instead. Glad you got it. It must have been awesome. Next time...
