Just getting into the sport and was wondering about the board shorts over wetsuit style?

If I forget my board shorts at home and ride anyway.. Is this cool? Will everyone I ask for a launch stare at my ass and not be able to focus?

Also I have a girlfriend looking to start. Should She wear a bikini over? Is it ok for her to just wear her bottoms?

Yes bad form, actually your girlfriend should always wear just a bikini, no matter what the conditions.
You should stay at home and work on your wardrobe by watching endless hours of cable and shows like "what not to wear".

I suggest you wear a banana hammock. This will ensure you cover up the bits and pieces no one wants to see, and also give you the freedom allowed by riding naked.

Especially at c rock.....enjoy that

Yes, people in hood river seem to be inexplicably distracted by people in wetsuits unless they double bag their junk by wearing boardshorts over the top of their wetsuit.

It looks pretty fucking goofy if you ask me. Different places have different attitudes. At the coast if you try surfing like that, folks will laugh their ass off.

I'm pretty sure it's a ploy by board short manufacturers to sell more shorts.

Just do whatever you want. Are you really worried about what people think? Be your own boss.
