|
|
I was at a wedding, and got to talking with a windsurfer. He mentioned the "coincidence" of the sandbar showing up right as the sport was blowing up. He was honestly convinced of a conspiracy to blow up the land and fill the river so the sandbar would form.
I have no idea if this conspiracy theory lies within only his head or if it is widespread amongst the windsurfers. I got a kick out of seeing the seriousness in his eyes while he was talking about it though. Thought I'd share.

No he is totally sane. I bring sand in my pocket every time I ride at the event site! Picked up this little trick in a ww2 prison break movie. |

Poor windsurfers. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. _________________ --------------------------------

Boy, and I thought Chavez was stupid with his "The Americans used their earthquake machine on Haiti"... You should have told him with a straight face that, yes, it was a conspiracy between kiteboarders and the Warren Commission. The Cubans may have been involved too. LMFAO
No, I doubt that many windsurfers believe that. Such stupidity is a rare, but entertaining, phenomenon. |

People still windsurf? We kited the Wall for three hours on Saturday with steady 4.2m sailing conditions and there wasn't even a car in the parking lot, let alone a windsurfer in sight. Three years ago it would have been chock full of sailors. |

First things first regarding the sandBAR, question 1) was there an open BAR at the wedding? Question 2) Was Cuervo on the shelf?
If "no" to those questions then Nak's earthquake machine is the culprit, albeit orchestrated by the Zionist regime no doubt. |

Wasn't there something odd about the big flood way on Mt. Hood that washed out the road? A big rig that "blew a tire" then hit the bridge causing it to fall and divert the river which went through a "dry wash" that brought 13,342 metric tons of gravel down the river while a "coincidental log jam" slowed the main flow of the Columbia (during the spring runoff season) which gave us the new sandbar. And the Oregon National Guard was mobilized to protect the city of Hood River then suddenly "recalled to barracks"? And the Portland news shows would only comment on the impact to skiing while there was flooding going on?! Then the main road between HR and Mt. Hood was "closed for repair" while giant earth moving equipment moved up and down the highway with out restriction. All the reporters could ever see from the barricades was flashing lights in the distance that may or may not have been "road repair" going on. I heard there were a lot of bulldozers but hardly any dump trucks. ODOT and the private contractors were seen pushing "piles and piles of sand and gravel" into the flowing waters of Hood River. When did ODOT get into flood control?
There seemed to be a lot of whispered conversations late at night in the bars up and down the gorge during that time. People with black hoodies on, pulled low and close, even when it wasn't cold, heavy equipment operators shivering in their boots.
Even on this forum there seemed to be an excessive amount of "rejoicing" and posting when pics of the new sandbar showed up on the river cams. Wasn't the CGKA re-invigorated right about the same time this was all going on? What about "Article 17" that the CGKA BOD refers to but never publishes? And the closed door BOD only meetings that totally ignores the Oregon Public Records and Open Meetings act?
Jus' sayin, things aren't always what they seem. I'd tell your windsurfing buddy to keep a low profile for a while and stop asking questions. Maybe head to Cali till things cool down.

Ummm, its already in the works actually. SUPPOSED to happen this fall but haven't heard anything about it since submitting bids last fall. Surveys of the sediment behind the dam suggest an amount of sediment equal to the hood river floods and its all heading for the columbia.
http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wr/cwp/condit.html
They are actually going to drill a big hole partially through the dam..10' in diameter or something like that and then blow out the last 12' feet or so of concrete to drain the reservoir and send the silt down the river. Man that is going to be a cool one.
I'm sure someone will sue once again and it won't happen this year. _________________ Bury me standing cause I won't lay down!!

now comes a new great run for paddling. The steepest section on the white salmon and you will literally wash out in the columbia. |

Sorry guys, it has been pushed out for another year at least. Turns out the bridge over the Northwestern Lake was designed for a "lake", and cannot handle river flow. Looks like it will need some work before the damn can go... |

How would one know if something was a conspiracy unless involved in the conspiracy? Isn't that what a conspiracy is? It, by definition, would be something one would not know. He's an idiot but damn funny. Poor bastard... _________________ Gun control means hitting the bulls eye... |

But seriously, who benefits from the mystery sand most? I'd say its the local dogs sniff'n for a place to push spent kibble.
To find the criminal, just look at who benefited from the crime...
But maybe, just maybe, a gang of stoney kiters engineered a hundred year flood and...
No. On second thought, I'm going with the dogs.
Final answer... Whoof |
