Mon Apr 11, 11 3:27 pm Slingshot Colors (Complete Listing?) |
|
|
Hi guys,
Anybody know of a link or site or catalog (or whatever) that shows the complete spectrum of color combinations used by Slingshot in any particular year?
I personally am most interested in RPM color schemes from 2009 or 2010.
I'm sure others would appreciate seeing this as well.
Gracias Barrachos

I had 2009's, still have a couple of 2010's. Turning 1 or 2 for the Rally. Not sure about the colors on those. BUT - I sure hope they are bright. I'm not a fan of black kites.
Most of my kites in 2009 were red & white with silver/black. I have a 2010 "8" RPM and it is mainly black with some weird dark blue with a scootch of yellow. Not sure who came up with that, but yuck. Good thing it's a great kite. The rest of my 2010's are red,silver/black - (10, 12, 14) .
You may want to call Windance and ask them. Pepi at Second Wind would also know.
Good Luck.

I think they are all random for the most part.
I like that because you get to see a whole bunch of variation. Especially at a launch where the majority of the kites are SS

SS does not have a color chart. Best is to contact your dealers to find out what they have in stock. In recent years, all kites were made of bright color fabrics.

...yeah, I'm convinced they let the manufacturers have free reign.
On the upside, they probably don't run into fabric shortages and there is bound to be a color combination out there for everyone.
On the downside, it is a bit of a gamble what you'll be getting for your $1500 when you order a kite...
"Hi, I'd like a blue kite please."
"No problem! Here is the yellow kite you asked for. Next customer!"
"But...no...I said blue?!?"
"Next!"
"...and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire... "

Sorry no color charts... But there is a method to the madness but the best way to get a color combo you like is by just contacting the dealer and seeing what they have in stock. We have listened to feedback regarding odd custom color combos so they have really put a effort to sourcing fabric that is very much treading within the time of delivery. This creates a product that is super fresh, one of a kind in most cases and at the very least helps spot your kite in a sea of same old same olds.

Good to hear. Joking aside, I noticed your efforts on the 2011 RPMs which all seem to be pretty sharp looking. I haven't come across one yet that made me recoil and wonder what they were smoking in China...

Yeah, it would be nice to order a specific color. But you know what? I like it better that there can be 20 RPMs out on the water, and not a one of them is the same color as mine.
