How do you guys do it? Wrap lines on bar, keep tension on the 5th line, place kite in water leading edge down, nose into wind, pay out lines, spin your kite, pray, launch, hook in, go?

Any advice?

the way I do: you can wrap your lines and do the un wrap. easy way though is to slowly let the 5th line out, keep your kite leading edge down. works 99% of the time.

Yeah Holly that makes sense. Easy as pie unless lines could get snagged. Then it'd be a wind up/pay out. Wish I did this at 3-Mile yesterday.

Thanks,

P

I had to do it today at rufus....right across from the Wall. I knew I had the lines rigged correctly, but some how I must have flipped the bar in such a way that the back lines got caught inside the center lines, $%^&$, back to the beach to start over! It was a little sketchy because it was fully wound 7m, and a bit northerly...but after being sure that I held the bar in alignment with the kite...it worked! Rig the lines from the front of the kite, and be sure you keep the bar oriented with the kite..when initially letting go of the kite, hold the bar in one hand and work the bar back and forth as the lines release. Most likely, the lines will get snagged at some point as they unravel...pull the kite in to provide slack on the bar so you can grab the snag and free it....That was my experience anyway!
Peace out

Pretty much lay out your lines attach to kite as normal - most people just wind back up on the bar and unwind as the kite drifts

If you flake the lines starting at the bar end into a bucket - nothing fancy maybe a figure 8 pattern-
Just pile em on top til you reach the kite

Works well for a boat launch
