Ola Raffee,

If you are living in Lincoln Co, then your flat water options are pretty limited. We are rich with pounding surf and strong winds, but scarce on good learning conditions. Best bay sailing is Siletz Bay on north and south winds with opposing tidal current.

Summertime when the surf is small can be pretty approachable once you have some basic kiting skills and familiarity with waves from surfing. I would recommend not going out in the surf unless there are other kiters around to show you the yeas and neas of what to do or not to do.

Once we get this winter BS behind us and the north winds start to kick in, pm me sometime and I'll hook up with you for a kite session.
