I'm hoping to get a session at the ponds this week if the wind gods cooperate. When is the tide too low to ride (with a TT)? Is there a problem riding with the high tide (i.e. setup)? I'm looking at the tides there this week.

Here's a very possible tide situation:

5:00a 9.4
11:45a -0.1
6:17p 7.2

Let's here it from the pond professors about when they'd hit and if the big tides present additional concerns- like being swept to nuclear Japan. When would the windows of optimal riding be? I would guess 7-9am or 2-4pm. Thoughts?

I was thinking Thursday. Of course, things will probably shift by then. I'm up for trying from Thurs-Sat if there's a good setup. I used Hammond for the tide chart- couldn't find anything closer.

Hammond is the right tide chart. If you get it at medium incoming tide you will get plenty of hours riding. If tide starts going out you will find yourself running out of water within a couple hours. Low tide it is just a couple 6ft channels of water flowing out and lots of mud...

Setup is difficult at and near high tide.

'ware the moon and stay off the grass. That grass will poke holes in your kite.

Go on an incoming, mid-tide and end the sesh before the beach disappears out of respect for the grasses. Thanks, guys. Forecast is still looking promising. Hope to get my fix either at the ponds or in the surf.

Cheers
