I'm headed for a 4-day weekend in SLC on Thursday. Does anyone have advice on where to kite and what size(s) to bring? What are the chances of scoring some good wind?

Powder Mountain has a riding area you can access from the top parking lot (we didn't even buy the $20 ticket since we could just ride from near the parking lot). Also, Strawberry Hill is somewhat near Park City. Then there's Skyline but it's a longer drive. In my experience somewhat bigger kites come in handy. For inflatables you can probably use anything from an 8 to 16m. If only bringing 2 kites I might do a 10 and 14m. Adjust size for foils accordingly. Search for Utah snowkiting info on Google. I think there's a website that lists a bunch of riding areas.

Each day, Kenny gives the forecast as to which spots are going to be best. Strawberry past Heber and Skyline near Fairfield are the 2 main spots with people kiting almost everyday. On a good day, it is off the charts at both these locations. You will see a bunch of NWKite people at each spot.

Have FUN
