Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay in, or around, Hood River?
Last summer my wife and I were driving up to the gorge every Saturday and Sunday from May to September. I've searched for places online but nothing, from what I've seen so far, really matches. Just looking for a simple place to get some sleep, we do have a dog.
PM with any suggestions.
I've looked at most these places on google: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=hood+river+summer+rentals
Thanks! |

We have a house in downtown HR that is dog friendly. The wife and I have discussed, but not come to any real conclusions, on the possibility of "renting" our house on the weekends when we go out of town. It would be only a few times throughout the Summer. I do know that we are looking to do a mini-vacation the first weekend of August and that our house will be sitting empty. If we do decide to do the weekend "rental", I'll post something on NWKite. If you'd like, PM me and we can chat via email as the time gets closer. Lloyd. |

We live in Hood River, so I can't really comment on the weekend rentals, but my impression, based on co-workers that face huge hikes in rent in the summer, people generally rent for weeks at a time in the summer.
A potential alternate if you're up for car-camping is Tucker Park campground just a few miles south of HR on the Hood River. We camp there regularly in the summer just to get out of the house. |
