kiting near Duluth, Minnesota in summer

I might be going to Duluth, Minn for the last week of July. Any insight on the kiting in the area? Thx.

wind is inconsistent in summer but you might get it. they ride off park point area in duluth. some other spots too i'm sure. superior is cold

lake mille lacs is another nice place to ride. south wind launches are better. water will be warmer in july.

had a great time kiting there, wind wasn't steady though

You are going to want a serious wetsuit or a drysuit and booties. That lake is freaking cold around Duluth. I windsurfed there a few times and the waves get big and the wind strong, but I froze my ass off. I will second mille lacs as a good place. There are lots of lakes around MN that are really nice though. Most ahve sandy botoms and decent wind.
