Finally enough snow in bondurant! Great day perfect wind and amazing snow! I did not put much time into the video because of the condensation on the lens but I hope you enjoy it! Wayne

Damn that is cool! I hear you don't have to be that good of a kiter to snowkite. Is that true? Looks like people were loopin their kites and whatnot which is a little bit more of an advanced technique in my opinion. But I want to do this!! Where is a good spot to go near the gorge for like a day or weekend trip? Nice video!

Was that reverse shot from the dash the GoPro? That footage looked awesome... I mean, hell of good video from a $300 camera. For the condensation thing, I've heard if you're moving a video camera from hot/cold, cold/hot, to keep it in a loose plastic bag until it adjusts to the ambient air temp. Apparently it lets the condensation form on the bag instead of the camera.

hey wayne,
sweet video man! love that jump starting at 1:30, that is some hangtime.
why is it you can hang that long on snow? colder air is more dense? i don't see anyone floating like that on water and you have to weigh at least as much with coats/boots/skis as a wetsuit.

Ditto the cool video and such. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Also, about the hangtime... it has nothing to do with the cold. I'd be at Rooster all winter if it did.
If I jump straight up on the sidewalk I'll have much less hangtime than if I jump off the I-5 bridge. I'm pretty sure science will back me up on that one.
Back to the video... thanks for posting. I truly believe snowkiting will be a dominant force in 10 years (especially where people have no water or slopes).

Thanks for the comments! Its easy to get big hangtime when jumping off a hill! It does not take much skill to glide. We loop our kites because the wind is blowing up the hill and that is how you climb. Snowkiting is easy compared to water kiting. wayne
