My daughter is moving to the SE section of town, 72nd or so, Powell Foster area. Anyone live there or nearby and know what the over the air signal is like? Antenna, not cable of course. They're not going to be able to afford cable for a while, just wondering if I bought 'em a TV for Christmas if it'll work with an antenna in that neighborhood.

Thanks!

They gonna have fast internet? If so they can just watch TV shows on their computer or better yet hook up their computers to a proper TV and watch stuff there. I haven't used cable or over the air TV in over 2 years now. Internet is all you need.

Nope, no internet, no cable; living cheap is the plan. It's a long story why they're moving over there... Anyway, I was hoping maybe they'd be able to get some reception & at least get local channels.

can anyone with internet ( high speed ) do this ? I could save some cash for another kite trip ?! Do I need any extra components other than a computer and a TV , besides the internet .? my cousin tells me he's on voipgo phone too and pays next to nothing for home and Iphone use ! I'm old and a little scared of things I don't understand but I'm tired of the big price for gadgets !

maybe one of those virgin mifi boxes makes a better gift for a budget conscious young couple. still have to pay as you go, but easier to turn on and off then cable.

we tried a digital antenna, but couldn't pick up a single acceptable signal (we are at the base of a big hill).

now we have Comcast "limited basic cable"" plan, $11 per month. You get all the major broadcast stations including HD broadcast, perfect picture. it's not heavily advertised by Comcast, but exists in Portland
