I hope that's just a prototype. Those are some weird looking graphics....

Be curious to hear what canopy & bridle changes are in store for the 2011 RPM! Wider wind range, bigger boosts. Isn't that what every new model always promises? Very Happy

pretty close but no graphic layout on that one... Wait till you see that one!!! Race ready for sure...

Always better in all regards..! Wink but with spilt strut as a added feature similar to what the Rally's have it will fly different. Youri Zoon gave some feedback on the new RPM and said the kite is just bad ass and loves it! More power, Rock solid, and loops better with power.

Hey Shy, Why did SS go away from the split strut idea for the last few years?

Todd, I heard they were going without pulleys, but I still see them on these pics. Could be a proto?

Can't wait to test this

Dave

gotta figure it s the cost to build. As a long time kite repair guy, I gotta say the split strut was,(is), the most bomber kite construction I've seen. Act like shock absorbers on tomahawk crashes that break other kites in half. And the added bonus of a smaller stiffer strut!

The new split strut looks way simpler with some new space age looking material replacing the heavier stuff on the old fuels.

Damn split struts, I was starting to make money off of Slingy repairs, now they go back to the indestructable build.

I thought a split strut was when the strut was not connected to the canopy near the leading edge, but seems to me that this would be more prone to needing repairs, which makes me think that I don't know what a split strut is.

Can anyone clarify? Confused

Sounds like something that would not bend, while the rest of the kite would bend, and make it more likely to rip.

The split strut is connected in two place the hole length of the strut which gives the canopy great stiffness when inflated.

Split strut is where the strut is actually part of the canopy as opposed to the strut being sewn on to the bottom of the canopy.

Sweet! Smile

Will look forward to seeing how they feel side by side to the Rallys (which fly great).
