Onsite report. Tell your boss you're sick, grab your 8m and get your ass down here.

When you get past the little pay booth, take a right and look for all the cars that look like windsurf/kite cars on the left. You can go all the way down to the end where the bathrooms are and park and walk down from there or sometimes people park in the first lot and walk down at those stairs but there are a few ways you can get down to the beach. You should probably see us kiting or at least heading out that way to kite from the parking lot. You will be fine if you just show up.

It usually doesn't look as windy as it actually is from the parking lot because of the way the wind and the current is going but Rooster is notorious for NUKING so bring smallerish kites. I am going to stop sounding like I know what I am talking about now. See you tomorrow.

K2 has it right.

Two main places to rig up and kite.

#1. After you pay at the toll booth hang a right and look for the bathrooms. Just to the East of the bathrooms there are some steps that lead down to the water. Assuming the water levels are low enough there should be plenty of room to rig down by the piers/steps.

#2. Go all the way to the east where there is a second set of bathrooms. Grab yer kites and started hiking in. You have to walk to the set up - but this is a clothing optional beach. Plenty o dudes - almost no ladies. So walk through the jungle set up. The paths all lead to the beach for the most part. Just stay on the path and do your best to go on a North East direction. You could also ask the locals (the nude guys) how to get to the kite beach while you are in the bushes.

7 is small as i got. If I need smaller I'll just punch a hole in it. Sort of a white trash "wind window" Razz By the way is this place OK for leaving an extra kite on the beach while I ride? Do the nudes keep an eye on your junk, so to speak? Rolling Eyes

Rooster was AMAZING today. I was on an 8m for 2 hours from 2-4, it was blowing 30. Wasn't to gusty either.

As a relative beginner at both kiting and at Rooster, gotta say that today was really excellent. I was a bit timid to go out as there were very few people on the beach early and the wind was too strong for me to self-launch or self-land. Luckily, two guys (firemen for TV) showed up to build the collateral confidence.

It's awesome to kite at this time of year and I recommend it to anybody who hasn't come down with a job.

Yeah, great day!

I really, really like my RPMs. They eat gusts so well; lots of depower both with the board and the bar. Very Happy 2 less struts, that much less to stuff in the luggage!
