I didn't check with them...shopped a bunch of others though and went with Al's. Full size 07 Taurus for just under 30/day all taxes etc included. |

Al West has always treated me right. Good people and "good enough" cars. _________________ "I don't believe in doing work that I don't want to do in order to live a life that I don't want to live."

Believe it or not I always go through alaskaair.com. They are powered by expedia but always have cheaper prices than anyone. Make sure that you click on sort by price. This has proven true for me everytime. Even beats priceline... How do they beat expedia when they are using their engine? I have no idea but it always works. |

Ez-Cars is the only place I've found that has monthly rates. |

Try Kihei Rent a Car also. Older Nissans but work great; pick up car in Kihei but they have free airport shuttle. I have used them exclusively for last 4 years or so.

If you have local contacts, reserving through them at kamaaina rates is a way cheaper way to go. Most places offer that if you ask. Other option is to get a hawaiian license/state id (bring your birth certificate!!) for while you're there. It's amazing the things that are 10+% cheaper.
I've had friends go through Kihei rent a car and also gave it good reviews. |

I have used Als as well. This year I rented for 11 days with National for pretty much the same price as the 2nd rate places(33/day inc taxes). You get a nicer car and no off-site shuttle. For 3 months I think you are better off buying a 2 or 3 thousand car then re-selling it.

I used Maui Cruisers for my last extended stay on the island. Great customer service! Car was left in short term parking with keys!! I was kiting within an hour of landing!

Car was reliable, but a little beat up inside. I went to Wall-mart and pimped my ride with seat and steering wheel covers, air freshener and windshield shade for under $15. |

I went ahead and rented the car from Ez-Cars.
We'll be there from Nov 1st through Feb 1st. Anyone else got a trip planned? |
