anyone know whats been going on at SI recently? The new sensor is reading 17. Would be pretty sweet if SI really was blowing 17!

I wish I could tell you. I strained my lower back boarding a month ago and then re-injured it a couple weeks later playing basked ball >.< I'm just now getting to the point that I think it might be ok again if I take it light. Hopefully I will be able to get out this weekend. After that I'll be the Sauvie Bitch again any time she teases us and I'll be able to give you updates :/

Hey Moto, what time was the 17mph reading? Post a snapshot of the iKS graph. 17 seems close for an average wind speed around 4pm. Gusts to 20+ Which side of the river is the sensor on (north or South)?

Carl and I hit the water just before 4pm and sailed upwind past Collins beach until we started getting blown off our strapless surfboards so we downwinded it back. Wind dropped off and the came back around 5:30 before shifting offshore and the dropping out...

Onad, the sensor read 17 at 4 pm and then dropped off.

The sensor is located somewhere upwind of the kite beach - on the opposite side.

There was a post recently about the sighting w/pics/ I wan't to say they placed it on the south side of the river at the tail of the island/upwind.

iKS sensor readings look pretty close to the wind we experienced at kite beach. The current/tide was neutral to favorable (going out) as opposed to negative (coming in) so take that into account.

I was on a 15m Octane and Surfboard (205lbs). Carl was on a 10m RPM & surfboard. Cool
