you get what you pay for... In all case's.. Complain, argue and bitch you still get what you pay for.. Like it or not the complete SS package is one of the best out there..

When you reduce a link the the system.. things start to feel much more direct... Try one and you will understand.. Lots of personal opinions there... Demos are pretty easy to come by. Wink

Looked into it further and was quoted somewhere around $1300 for a 12m Rally. So I figure you can subtract $500 from the listed retail price for a new Rally. Maybe even less?? Anyone else want to throw out some numbers?

Shy you gotta consider your credibility
when you defend the pricing, it's a total joke.

But will it be funny if you guys will end up sitting on more rallys than octanes? Laughing
Don't get me started.... Rolling Eyes

Some nice gear, but it ain't made of gold.

what are you talking about? this type of discussion can crossover to many other items...

Bought a MT bike for 1500.00 workd.. but still needed improvement.

Bought my next bike for 3000.00 and its the shit... Priceless..

I got what I payed for and It was what I was looking.. I had the money. So whatever... You either want the item now and will pay for it or wait and save a buck or two or miss a session or 2.. There can be cases where you don't but in most cases and with some research and time you can make a educated buying decision, that makes it worth your wild...

Unlike windsurfers.. Kiter's don't mind buyin new gear... That keeps the industry going and will overcome that pole plant someday if not already... A thriving industry allows more comps, events, and gear improvement, refinement, safety, ect...

Octane's are gone and Rally 1st shipment sold out expect for some 4m's.... Next shipment is around the corner... Then the 2011 RPM in mid FEB...

Who is going to pay 1900.00 for a kite? I never paid more than 1k for a new one.
I say get rid of retaillers & sell right to the public, you'll sell more kites & more people will have access to the sport.

Rolling Eyes The latest and greatest ALWAYS cost a premium, in EVERY industry. Last years kites are relatively inexpensive, used kites are dirt cheap. There will always be those that are willing to pay to get brand new technology and/or fashion. Nothing wrong with that, it's what pays to keep progress moving.

I gotta give kudos to Slingshot for pushing the envelope forward, and to having customer service second to none! In a world where nobody gives a shit about the customer anymore, it's refreshing to deal with a company that treats it's customers like the people who keep the company alive! Thumb's Up

And BTW, retailers are worth every penny they get!

SS had a champagne year with the REV a while back... got some "new" designs going, Bandit never existed Wink

SS charges more and ends up dumping a ton of Octanes on Real, then Trip writes a review of the Rally as a big disapointment... Laughing

TWO cents:

Competition in the Industry will even out prices eventually... the used market sets the price. Thats why a Cab switchblade is pricey year in year out.

Lots of good kites out there and more on the way...

New designs don't come from one super human but are an amalgamation of current thinking... just like the printing press was actually a modified wine press, the type was from the chinese and hundreds of years old.

If I have to spend 2 K on ONE kite I have an addiction problem similar to gambling as my family will have to go w/o food.

Slingshot is pushing the envelope by coping the Delta design ???? Laughing

I agree with the customer service remarks, very good on that end.

The Delta design is CHEAPER, (one less strut) to produce, only reason the kite is 2 K is because thats thier MSRP. Or otherwise known as ManufacturerS Ripp off Price. Its normal business practice No BFD

I've been offered 15% off if more than one kite purchased. That is also with no discount requested. I would think you could do better if you asked.

Nobody is being forced to pay big money for new kites. There are a lot of used Waroos if you want to go cheap Rolling Eyes
