Where are you planning to kite? If outside of the gorge, a 12m Rebel would be a nice kite and the best of that list IMHO. Inside the gorge you'd want something like a 9m. |

Hey Larry, gear has changed a ton over the last 7 years (for the better). The Waroo or Rebel should be good kites for you. I would stay away from the rest
IMHO.
There are a ton of great used kites here that will probably be even better than the kites you have listed. Browse through the classifieds section and feel free to ask for any info on the kites.
The board might be a bit small for you...I would look for something in the 135-142 range. Last edited by Chooch on Wed Sep 08, 10 8:06 am; edited 1 time in total |

hey you are about the same size as my boy friend... he has a couple of boards that are made to fit the 180-210 lb rider. I also have a 2008 liquid force havoc 12m that would be an excellent addition to your quiver. It has been my light wind kite so it has not seen much use,it is in great shape. The havoc is the top of the line kite from Liquid Force, it is the toughest kite I have ever had, I sold the 6, 8, and 10 already but have the 12 left.. it is in perfect working order.. you could come take it for a test flight and check it out. feel fre to call and chat about these items or to set something up. ask what people think about the havoc on the forum. In my opinion the havoc is a far superior kite to the North rebel, tougher better bar system ect... where will you ride? your kites should be sized accordingly so you can get the most days out of them.

You will be shocked at how much the gear has changed over the past handful of years.
Where do you plan on kiting? Back in coos bay? Or the gorge? Coast? Where you want to kite has a lot to do with the gear you want.
A 133cm board for a 190 pound dude is on the small size. A 138 would be probably more of a universal size board for you.
Lot of deals in the clasified section of this forum. You could probably find better deals there than what you found on craigslist. But again, that would depend on where you want to kite.
Also, how many kites can you afford? How many do you plan on buying? Just one? Then you would need a kite with the biggest wind range possible. Or maybe two or three - then I would look for more stable kites that may not have the maximum amount of wind range. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Hey Larry,
Seven years without kiting. Did you know that they changed from 2 line kites to 4 and 5. Also the safety chicken loops have also changed. Did you have one on your kite?
Take a lesson and refresh yourself. Also, there have been helpful information and questions for you that you haven't answered since your post. Are you real?
Are you going to wear your same old wetsuit and w/wo board shorts? I have a suggestion on where you should start again that is user friendly with long sandy beaches. |
