Hi,
I have heard that twice in the fall, wind people trek to LV in RV's as a group for safety. Is this just an urban myth? Anyone know about it? Doing it? I'm thinking of going to LV for the winter and want to take an RV - but want to be safe.

I plan on driving from SEA around Nov 1. I have a little experience driving to Mexico. I have driven in rentals once I have arrived there(mainland mexico) it seems like after you have the first 2 days behind you, its much better. I plan on "getting there" with some long days of driving.
Baja did 20 years ago in a used Cadillac.. now its will be in my used Astro Van. I suspect I will be crossing the border any time after Nov 3rd.
if you find anything out about the wind people Caravaning let me know. or at least drive together if it fits your schedule. I know the Toll road from Tijuana is not bad. also there is another crossing East of there.
p.s. I did a little research on this one night and they want $$. also some groups "Good Sam's"
have cancelled due to danger at the border. |

And I plan on this drive Jan 4
I will do some more research for you. When I "was" a windsurfer I recall a yahoogroup that was all La Ventana, and discussed this subject.

I too am looking at driving down to La Ventana and am looking for a caravan. I am thinking of going in Nov. PM and we'll talk about it. |
