Pro Kiteboarder, Damien Leroy takes out the new 2011 Cabrinha Crossbow kite and rides in less than 10 knots. It is a sight to see considering most struggle just to fly a kite in this wind. He is one of the top Course racers in the world at the moment.

Take a look at the video at : Damienleroy.com

I don't know if I'd call it a "sick video" ... but it is an impressive use of some lightwind tools. I wondered how long it'd be until those race boards started becoming lightwind weapons...

Definitely not the most exciting video I have seen. I believe the light wind performance is about the course racing board (and the huge fins) and not the kite.

Cool that you can ride with that board speed in such minimal wind, but I am not about the purchase more bulky gear to gain some light wind water time. Probably a good idea for the San Diego guys or other places that are plagued by light winds most of the time.

Idea Idea Idea

I think a race board will be my purchase next year. The skill you learn on a board like that all translate really well to riding a surfboard. Plus Its impressive how fast you can go in such little wind.

Is it possible for cabrinha to make the depower set-up any more clunky and awkward? Laughing Laughing

Maybe hang some christmas tree ornaments or something on it?

Big deal. I ride a skim with a 13M rev in 8 knots at SI all the time. Wink

I know you do Dunes. Kite-looping the entire time; straight downwind. I could almost make my 11m and twin tip work in some of the really light wind you use but I don't feel like walking that much Razz

Nice video. Too bad the song makes me want to poke out my eardrums with a sharp pencil!

Big whoopty-dog-diggity-doo, dude.

What's fun about MTL? I'm thinkin' you can't jump with a race board, no?

I know this foilboy/channel markette that is at least jumping in that kind of wind.

Also I've seen big Zephs having fun in that crap.

But I gotta say that vid is pretty lame. Dude must be easily entertained.
