It's not kiteboarding but still an wind sport and I know at least Steve on here is also a paraglider. Pretty interesting stuff.

Whoa...

That is not "looping" in the paragliding sense... This is what is called "tumbling", and a very very hard thing to do even in a solo glider. Of course it would be done first by Pal and Tabor! Nice work guys...

I imagine when you are doing something that dangerous you want to have the emergency chute ready lol.

What amazes me is the amount of stress those skinny ass little cables can withstand. The two guys and their gear have to weigh at least 400 pounds. I imagine as they whip through the bottom of those loops they are probably generating at least 3-4 times their weight in force. All being held up by a couple dozen tiny ass little strings that could pass through a straw. Crazy.

Holy crap you aren't kidding about spectra. According to this a hundred foot strand (which would weigh only half a pound) of 1/8th inch spectra cordage could support you and a few of your buddies. Minimum Tensile Strength 1620 lbs.
