Oh shit I'm stoked!
It's been since April since I've kiteboarded because I lost my board and couldn't get the $$ together. ...Today I decided I've got to at least body drag a bit at Sauvies since I just starting learning this winter.....didn't know if I'd forget....but it's like riding a fucking bike man!
I took an old surfboard out with my 7m rev and thought I'd give it a try.....
Strapless is rad! ....granted I couldn't go upwind...I still rocked it!.....super light wind.
Just thought I'd toot my own horn and share the stoke....(now I've got to get me a bigger kite and a kiteboard). |

Good for you dude!!
It's great that you remembered how to do it. Make sure you remember how to self rescue too.
Blow that horn,

Posts like these remember why I got into kiting. That original hit keeps you coming back for more and more . . . and five years later still more. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Raj,
Sucks you are missing the best of the season, Dont know if I can pull it off but going to try and make it over to the Hood this weekend. If I do I can let you borrow a board I have laying around untill you can get a new one. |

You can't go kiting strapless with a significantly smaller kite compared to twins or small directionals. You still need to rig according to the given wind speed. But, riding a strapless surfboard will allow you to coast through the lulls in gusty conditions better than the low volume boards. Thus, it can be easier to go upwind in gusty to light conditions with the strapless boards around 6 ft. |
