Does anybody have information on kiting at Prescott beach?

Yes, it is ride-able. When Jones is firing, it usually is, but not always. Watch the St Helens WOTW sensor. Keep an eye on the Tides. Wind may be blowing but if the Tide is coming in it is difficult to go down stream. The cliffs on the downwind right side pose a problem as it changes the wind flow. Often light wind..bring your big kite. Lots of good launch beach.
fun when it is good.

Prescott is good on a north wind. Works the same as kalama but is a good alternative if kalama is to crowded or if you are a beginner. Kalama launch is a intermediate launch spot. Can also do downwinders from Prescott to down past the grain terminal on far south end of kalama. I hit it a few times during the summer and is fun. Has a nice sand and grass beach for launching and drying out your gear.
If the coast is having north or nnw winds look to kalama or Prescott. _________________ *AIR PIRATES KITEBOARDING*

Prescott is a good place to ride. It does cost 3 dollars to park there. Pick up passes on the right across from a trailer house on the left. They have bathrooms. I am a newbie, but I remember the wind is a little fickle compared to Jones, in fact when the wind dies there I head over to Jones. You want to park and pump across from the bathrooms. Further down the beach there are always fishermen and families. There is a steep bank with a narrow gravel bed extending about 8 feet into the river so you might want booties if you don't want to walk on gravel. Lastly the river traffic is busy there so be aware. Kiters also launch across the way at Steelscape in Kalama. _________________ Trying hard |
