Friday nigh Kite Racing at the Event Site

July 16 and August 8 I will hold a small briefing at the Sand Bar Cafe at 5pm. We will then kick off with two or three races starting at the end of the Sand Bar spit near the red bell buoy about 30-45 minutes later. Three divisions: first start twin tips with a small gap then surfboards and then race boards. It will create a bit of a pursuit style race. Likely course will be upwind to the Hatchery Buoy then back. If interest grows the Hood River Yacht Club has expressed interest in helping set marks...

-Short pursuit windward leeward races
-No entry fee
-Consumable prizes after at the Sand Bar Cafe

If interest increases we will continue with more races through the windy season.

Maybe the strapless riders should be allowed a start time too if there's enough of them.

Hey Morgan :

Are there any opportunities for running a race on any other additional dates that do not conflict with other kite or wind events?

Tonight is the RoShamThrowdown photo shoot and rider party, as well as the Windsurf Movie II premiere.
The August date conflicts with the Bridge of the Gods Kite Event in Stevenson.

Not trying to be a pain, I just would love to participate in the kite races. I've been talking off and on with Sky and Ken about this for a while and would hate to miss both opportunities.

Aug 8th is a Sunday on my calender. Some friends are thinking of coming up from the Bay. Can you confirm the Sunday Aug 8th Race?
