This is what I do for a living...skin care. The name of the game is reapply every hour or two. Numbers are marketing. One of the best sunscreens out there is called blue lizard. I also like. You can buy it at most pharmacy's or Columbia Laser Skin Center in Hood River (by the bridge) or in The Dalles location - above Cascade Eye - next to Safeway.

Columbia Laser Skin Center has a skinscope which detects skin cancers or the possibilty of them. You can also view it with the specialist and see for yourself...it is completely complimentary as a consultation. But - this is where the rubber meets the road. Will you do something about it? Deep exfoliation peels & laser technology can extract hazardous skin lesions. Sunscreen helps prevent, but if you have things brewing in early stages...do something about it.

Get over your vanity/pocketbook & use the zinc & quality sunscreens.

I have seen so many beautiful people that are my age, but look 15 years older than me because they "tanned" or "burned". Don't be a wind hag. Don't be cheap. Get your skin health taken care of..

M.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit consumer product research organization, has posted some interesting information regarding sunscreens lately. Basically they found that the majority of sunscreens on the market do not live up to their protection claims and that some may even promote skin cancer. They have a guide published here http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen and they also have a free iPhone app.

Mary is rocking out with a new look for sun protection!

I heard someone broke a tooth yesterday hitting their face against the slider. Food for thought.

I just returned from kiting in Dahab , Egypt , pics to follow. We were in 102 deg. desert sun, no shade in sight ever. Wind was good but sun was punishing.

I have to agree with Chooch. I have used this stuff since discovering it on Maui :

ITs the bomb stays on no matter what.
