As I transition to Octanes, are the flying characteristics and power similar enough to the Rev 1 that I can just do a one for one replacement? I can't afford a whole new quiver at once, so I'm thinking starting with an 11m, since that's my most used kite. What differences will I notice riding a 9m Rev1 and then switching to an 11m Octane during the same session as the wind drops?

Thanks!

You love the Octane Nak. Should fit in nicely with it's ancestors!

Thumb's Up

nak.....im in the same boat ....been rideing 5-7-11 revs and loveing um... surf only....my 11 got eaten so it was time to upgrade.....got a 11 octane.....to fill the hole in my quiver.......at first on factory settings it was abit soft.....i came in and took the extenions off the outside lines it made the lines about 3 in shorter......in turn it made it just like a rev...imo.....these extentions are located up near the bridel and are loop to loop..... i ride my 7 lots and going back and forth is no problem....the octanes have so much tuneing capabilities that for some whos not sure what they like it could be a bit much.......3 pick points on the kite tips for different feels .....3 knots on the pig tails...for rake settings......the extenition i removed.....for i reckon unhooked.....time buying......for me i ride second knot even...ditch the extention works like a dream......the big differance is how fine the tuneing is the depower on the octane is WAY shorter in throw ..smaller line and the throw on the leash red loop conect is super short in comparasion all upgrades are just that ......dosent take much to tune um to your likeing......and when and if my pockets get fat again im in for a octane 7......as prying the 5 from my kids is more than i can handle......plus they call my 7 theirs anyway...... Nak Nak I switched over at the end of last year. I loved my Rev's and the Octanes are awesome too. When you get them take the extra pigtail off and move them up like 1 or 2 settings on the wingtip and they fly just like the Rev

You can try mine out if you want. We are getting closer to some kiting in the next few days and I will get some picts for you.
