i started this sport about 3 weeks ago. i have the basic and i am teaching my self how to ride.

i am at the point where i am ready to hit the water so where is a good place to ride?
a place where there are not many people (just in case i fall so no one will make fun of me hahaha) and has no obstetricals in the way?

thanks.

theres not enough wind in Fl to learn parasailing until hurricane season.
try ft lauderdale, theres nothing to hit and nobody will see you if you crash.

Just spendt 3 months at Grayton Beach, FL. ( 40 min. east of Panama ) kiting the gulf of mexico. Very unreliable wind, all 14M and 16M weather.

But when it was on it was incredible to ride the surfs and the beautiful blue water. I believe the season if FL is kind of at a still right now, but I could be wrong.

We are going to need to know where you are located?

Uncrowded spots in the gorge...nada You just have to pay your dues.

Best spot for no crowds and friendly conditions.... Jones beach or the coast.

Obstetricals are rarely a problem when kiting.

Really? You'd actually recommend someone teach themselves to kite at Manzanita? Wow.

I would NOT recommend teaching yourself to kite at Manzanita, it was in regards to one of the earlier comments.

Lesson learned on my behalf. Thank you for pointing it out, and I will definetly be more aware of this so that any future instances like it would not cause any confusion. Thumb's Up

My location is Hollywood Florida, 2 seconds from the Turnpike near 441.
I used to wake board for 2 years prior to kite boarding. (well i cant say that because i am not good at kite boarding hahaha)

I have a 12M kite LF assault and very nice dr. gonzo board. the size is 138 or something like that. got a luxury LF harness and most important a helmet. so gear wise i am ready just need a nice place to go too.

Gman. I have been to that park. I wake boarded there and it was fun. Do you think i can go to Dania beach and "ride" there? only one problem there is a pier nearby. Driving to Miami beach or the keys will be a drag.

pdxmonkeyboy: can you refer me to a legit forum something like this where the community is helpful a this one Smile

you can kite Ft Lauderdale - it is crowded and there are rules (check with locals - Neil Hutchison - xratedkiteboarding)

prob the best spot for you: del ray
