Needing to get some time on the water.... anyone on possibility of good wind at North coast this weekend? Sounds a little offshore/northerly-does Ft. Stevens fill in better in this situation than Manzannita?

I'm taking my fam to fort stevens this weekend and never kited up north, always been at Newport and LC, forecast looks promising but heard it's light up there. Anyone up for a downwinder sat or sun?

Yeah, if the wind is real North then the Fort Stevens area can be money. Check out Lot B and you can either point sail there or go downwind as far as you wanna go (although wind usually gets pretty light by Sunset beach). Yes, typically the wind here will be lighter than Manzanita.

At Manzo the wind can get funky near the headland the more North there is in the wind. However, you can always head down to the state park just south of town and the wind will be at least a bit (if not a lot) cleaner.

I would be game for a downwinder, I am headed to the coast tomorrow for the weekend. I am new to the NW so I am not aware of all the coast spots for certain conditions. People have been telling me Lot B Ft Stevens for a north. Hit me up with a call or text if you want another rider!

The coastal forecast is still looking great for this weekend.

The high water shouldn't leave much beach at Rooster for the Easterlies on Saturday, but we may see Westerlies back at the Sandbar by Sunday afternoon.
