Hi All ,
I'm off to Whitehorse Yukon Territory Canada . Land of midnight sun .
My boss is sending me there for three weeks and I'm taking my gear as there is a small kite community there . About 40 min. out of Whitehorse at Carcross Yukon there is a good spot with knee deep crystal clear brass ball freezin cold water that , when it goes off it's 20+mph and steady according to a local rider .. There is a desert at one end of the Lake and a glacier at the end of the valley so the sun does it's thing and as the day goes on the air starts to move and away we go .
I spoke with Jim at kite Yukon and he's gonna hook me up with the locals , as he's leaving town for a week .
I feel at home already . I was told there are serious blue grass performers visiting the weekend of the 12th . Time to have some beverages and listen to tunes .
I hope I have time for my job , LOL .
I post some pics from the north for you all .

When are you heading back to Oregon Jack?
I know that warm up in SPI probably is wearing off, so wait a little while it is Juneuary here. RECORD Rainfall for May/June and we are only 6 days into the month. _________________ KB4C!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jack, I've spent 5 summers riding that lake and it is still one of my favorite places in the world! PM me and I'll give you some great info, pics, directions to a secret camping spot, or just answer any questions you want. Too bad Jim won't be there, he is a great guy. Oh, and the water isn't bad at all as the portion of the lake you will be on is only a couple feet deep which collects all the warm water from the top of the lake. |
