|
Come down and check out the first SUP Race around ross island this Saturday!!!
The series will consist of 3 races, course will include racing around Ross Island 4.25 miles. each happening on a Saturday 5/8, 5/22, 6/12.
Staging is at the Oaks Amusement Park boat launch.
First Race is Saturday, May 8th.
Three divisions: under 12'6, under 14' and Open. Mens and Womens categories.
Registration opens at 9am.
Racing starts at 10am.Race is to be completed in under 3 hours.
*PFDs will be required. We've pleaded our case with the powers that be to waive the rule, but to no avail. All racers will be required to have a USCG approved PFD. Invasive Species permit is also encouraged. We'll have them on site $5.
Surftech, Naish, Amundson reps with demos (hopefully) on hand to.
Surfrider and the Willamette Riverkeepers will also be there.
THIS IS MEANT TO BE A FUN EVENT AS WELL AS COMPETITIVE. The Willamette River is a healthy river with thriving wildlife and beautiful views of both downtown Portland and the surrounding area. Come on down and GET ON IT, IN IT, or NEXT TO IT!
Yee ha, fun for all!

Huh. I didn't know they designated "healthy" rivers as super fund sites. |

With all the Spring showers, should be a good opportunity to see the famous brown-backed corn trout heading downstream to spawn.
Sounds like a cool event. I'll attend if in town. Good efforts GP! |
