Kite tubes were also in the Oregonian today. The attorney general -or- surgon general of Oregon ( I can't remember) has "advised against using such a device. It has caused 3 deaths nationwide this summer." It wasn't banned or anything. Maybe Naish or SS could design one that wouldn't unexpectedly dump the rider !!

the floating things making up the slingshot launch are all designed for that sort of thing. the company making them used to be called aqua-port now they are aqua-glide.

We don't need that thing... all we need is our kites connected to us, with a rope connecting us to a boat, and that's about it! Wink

Yeah, that picture looks real!

I love the halo around the tube.

www.youtube.com has some excellent real wipeout videos.

If you watch those videos, you'd see the tube never launches into the air that hard, but they do roll upside down after getting up to 15-30 feet and hurl the riders down at the water, when the boat is traveling around 45 mph.

These tubes are Natural Selection at its finest.

Keep them around, I say.
