Ok, so I've been seeing quite a difference in race fins from board to board. Some super long, some shorter, some squared on the tips and some rounded on the tips. One thing seems for certain, they gotta be at least 10" long now a days..
Can Hein or any one else kinda in the know help us out with the difference between the fins?

Interesting point. I think shaving all your hair could help too, or better yet one of those sharkskin suits swimmers wear. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

wally,
being the final week before the worlds, I doubt you'll see any racers chime in on the varying fin characteristics.
I can tell you that many racers are using specific fins to help achieve a good performance upwind while allowing them to run efficiently downwind.
its an extremely tough design to achieve, but maybe after the worlds, you might have an opportunity to get more insight on them.
seattle will have three local riders representing our community at the worlds competitions in corpus. I wish them the best and hope they make us proud.
I look forward to seeing them reach their goals.
for more info on racing, you could check out the kiteforum section on kite racer.
