Noah,

Really bummed I missed out on the MSR this year! Seattle crew and I have been long time favorites of the "longest" running snowkite event. After I grasping the importance of the original organizer vision, (losing his to life to brain tumor). Joel B. and crew threw some great consecutive years there in 2006-2009 and the MT snowkite scene has been sizzle hot ever since. However, IMO I think we need to create and coordinate a circuit of events for next snowkite season. Presidents day weekend seems like perfect time to have the MSR 2011, then Snowkite Soldiers, then SKM, then Super Fly, all in consecutive weekends. Although a pretty dedicated scene to follow, it just make scents if someone was going to road trip the entire thing. (and how cool would it be traveling within our country meeting and sharing our passion with other mutual snowkiters) We as a snowkite community have some great events established, it would be nice to see all the organizers coordinate a conducive schedule so that traveling across multi-state you can catch at least 2 or 3 events. Not blaming your event, but just bummed I had to make a decision to skip the MSR this year.

Hey Brad,

Sorry you could not make it out this year. We decided to change the dates because we have more reliable winds at the end of March than we do around presidents day weekend. It really paid off for us this year with 7 of 7 days being windy. We also don't risk having the minus 30 degree weather we have had on occasion for the rodeo. It is just a more pleasant and reliable time of the year for us in Montana. Hope to see you for the next MSR.

Tony
