That's Moks, a great spot with pretty reliable thermal wind in the afternoon. Lots of coral hazards though. Kailua is beautiful, and a great beginner spot. Less reliable wind. Lots of other spots too. Hawaii Kai has some awesome flat water, but the wind has to be the right direction.

I'd start at Kailua if the wind is good, or Moks if Kailua is dead, and talk to the locals for more info.

Most people go to Kailua or Mokuleia. Depending on when you are here, check the tide before going to moks. Smile

Moks for better waves, and Kailua for allround fun. Stay away from the right hand side of Flat Island is there are any surfers there...

If you haven't been here before, know that we are in constant threat of being shut down in Kailua, so please abide by the riding guidelines:

For bellows, the lifeguards aren't particularly happy with kiters there because the wind is often onshore, so make sure you don't ride the shorebreak where the kids are running around. It really is all about using the iside of your head Smile

Otherwise have fun and be safe Smile

Damn..sorry about being a kill joy here. We get a lot of people passing through Smile
