Lace up straps or lace up bindings? There is a big difference.

I like laces just because I can fine tune where my bindings are tight. As far as straps go, getting those tight will just lead to pain and suffering.

This brings up a good point... Why are people calling straps bindings? It is either a binding or a strap!

In my opinion...
Laces on a binding: Yes
Laces on a strap: No

agreed, laces are necessary to close up the binding after you get in it, one you set a strap it doesn't even need to be changed unless your feet grow an insane amount overnight for some reason. I set my straps 2 years ago and have never had to mess with them since. I think laces on straps are an absurd feature.

I don't think the lace up straps are worth spending extra money on, BUT last year I demoed one of Lightwave Dave's boards and I did like the lace up feature. I thought that you could put on the straps then snug them down tighter than you could otherwise.

Umm, what about switching between booties and bare feet. Laces kick ass on straps or bindings. Also, letting your friends borrow your board is way easier with a lace system. Why wouldn't you want easy adjustment (besides potential cost)?

Slingshot just came out with lace up straps so you know they are legit. Yeah they are more adjustable cause ya know, it takes almost a full minute to adjust Velcro straps.

Laces on straps is just lipstick on a pig
