Hey all

I'm headed to seaside for the weekend, anyone gonna be out there chasing wind? Any tips on where to ride or not to ride? Any good eats or must see spots?

Gonna have wife and kids in tow, 6 and 10. Any input is appreciated. Cool

Thanks
FR8

Right on Fr8, you're forecast is loaded with S wind! You shouldn't have to chase very far! Launch anywhere at Seaside from 12 Ave - north. You can point sail out front or downwind to Delray or Sunset. The estuary could be fun too!

Right!! Just paddle on out there with your longboard and half a dozen of your friends and see what happens with the locals. I am sure they will not welcome you with open arms other than shotguns and rifles...

Heh Heh

I am a white boy who grew up in Hawaii... I've had my share of the locals, and yea showing up to any local spot with 6 buddies will always get you a free target on your back.

Thanks for the list of places to eat

Just showing up by yourself puts a target on your back out there.

Don't let them see ur car if u plan on surfing the point. It will not be in one piece when you get back.......... I was one of the local boyz growing up and I've seen what happens.

Ahhh.. the point tough guys. Great poster boys for the Seaside Chamber of Commerce and people visiting town. Most of them don't contribute shit to the community.

Just curious, not going there. I heard non local surfers were not welcome at Seaside, I am not up on the situation. I did not believe it but it sounds like only at the "point". I don't know where that is. Wind slither says from 12th street north is okay for kiters, so the point must be to the south?

Not sure how this thread got focused on the Point. I think Slither was saying "point sailing" which just means kiting where you launch, wherever that is. It is practically impossible to kite at the Point unless there is a lot of WNW. There probably wouldn't be any surfers there then anyway.

Kiting the point would be crazy! The cliff would really screw up the wind. I'm not sure that could even be done? Besides, I would rather just surf the point. The localism is stupid. Its not like the point ever gets as crowded as anything in Cali.... So 12 people are out at the point, big F**kin deal Evil or Very Mad Try surfing Steamer lane. I never messed with people but I saw and heard alot of stories. Not as bad as is used to be. The cove is free game.

Anyone still kiting Seaside Friday? calling for 20-30 South winds. I'm going to check it out regardless. Get it at high tide at 11am and enjoy Necanicum river

Might be pretty gusty today, NOAA is calling for 25/40 and the ikiteblah sensor is reporting 22/33/50 SSW Shocked

The forcast for tomorrow is calling for less rain and steadier winds. I'm hoping for a short 25/30 S/SW downwinder from nehalem campground to town.
