I haven't had a chance to ride the 09s. But I have an 08 10m havoc in my quiver. Its money fer ser. Very stable, easy to unhook and hook back in. Has pretty good wind range. Durable. Very sweet kite - especially if you like to unhook.
By the way - where are you seeing these kites sell for super cheap. It would pretty nice to upgrade my quiver. Hook a kiter up! _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

I've owned a full quiver of havocs since the 08. 08, 09, and 2010 are all very awesome all around kites. They're a do everything type of kite. You really can't go wrong with the 08, 09 or 2010. They boost well, unhook well, ride waves well, and just are an all around great kite.
Where are you seeing cheap 09 Havocs? I think you should share cause there are quite a few people trying to build their quiver for this coming summer.
As far as the used market is concerned, Havocs are going pretty cheap because there are so many. Most people roll their gear once a season to keep current with gear, not because the kites are bad. |

Stoli is my favorite vodka.
I don't normally read the industry section, but I see what you're talking about. The reason they're able to sell cheaply is because they bought out LF entire remaining stock for a bulk discount. They did the same thing last year with the remaining 08 LF Sessions and sold them all.
What type of riding do you like to do?
The Havoc is a great all-around kite and is the right tool for the job if you're a freerider/waverider who messes around with freestyle. For hardcore freestyle you'd be better off with a C kite like the Hifi just because it sits back in the window further. The Havoc on the other hand likes to climb toward the edge of the window like all SLE kites, therefore you need to move it a little to drop it back into the window before you unhook to load-up for a trick. That's not to say it is bad for freestyle, I only rode Havocs last year and I only really ride freestyle. It loops good for a SLE since it's not totally flat. The bar is really good and it's really easy to recover from a crash. The kite has 1-pump which is a necessity for getting out quickly. All around, I really loved my Havocs and looking forward to another year on the 2010s. |

If you read the fine print, BKB is selling only the 16m2 Havoc at the special price, and that is all.
It is true that LF had extra stock and BKB bought them out, but it also is because very, very few people these days buy any kite larger than 16m2. Hell, I get lectured all the time just for flying a 14m2.
If your looking for a good 16m2 kite, then go for the deal (yes, I am a retailer as well, but I do not stock kites this big).
If by chance you are looking for a more standard size, such as a 8, 10 or 12, then 2nd Wind (or even Gorge Performance) can might have some leftover inventory in the $699-$899 pricerange. _________________ Pure Stoke Sports

pepi's right. a kite bigger than 14 these days has to be for a big dude. the 14's have enough juice to get you going in anything that would realistically be fun.
PM'd you. i have both Havoc's and Sessions for sale.

Havocs are good.
LF is solid.
Its good to see some inexpensive gear for a change.
The prices these days are ridiculous.
16m is big, we need it up here in the summer (puget sound)
Looks like they have 6-8-12m kite only all under $650 |

I loved my '09 Havocs for everything from wakestyle to wave riding (and boosting if you're into that). Great kites, you won't be disappointed. I'm selling a 10m in great shape with a barely used 2010 bar (with the new QR) for $750. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC
